Among the small number of fruit pickers currently working for Peter Hall is a contingent from Vanuatu. Fruit pickers flown in from the Pacific Islands to pick fruit in Australia has been a common practice as both a means of filling the void of local unwilling to do the labour intensive work as well as provide Pacific Island nations with some economic relief as fruit pickers are entitled to a full award pay rate as stated by law.
