The crisis in the dairy farming industry has been caused after Australia’s biggest dairy co-operative Murray Goulburn and New Zealand dairy giant Fonterra devalued  farm-gate milk prices by applying retrospective price cuts from $5.60 a kilogram (milk solids) to $4.75/kg.
