Asanka Brendon Ratnayake

He works with leading international news agencies and publications including Getty Images, Reuters, The Associated Press and The New York Times. His photography and video work is also published under the credit Asanka Ratnayake.

His career began in 2010 at The Sunday Leader newspaper in Colombo, Sri Lanka, before he built a freelance career across Asia and Australia covering breaking news, politics, sport, social issues, travel and long form reportage.

Working across stills and video, he brings more than a decade of journalistic experience to assignments, including research, interviewing, writing and news judgement. His work is shaped by context, accuracy and an understanding of how stories are told for domestic and international audiences.

His photography has been exhibited at the Museum of Australian Photography.

Available for commissioned editorial, sport, reportage, documentary, humanitarian, NGO and commercial assignments in Australia and internationally.
